Hi everyone,
I hope that everyone is enjoying the great weather we're having! We've got big news this week - GLR is planning another trip to run a marathon in Japan! Be sure to check out the email below for info on how to join us and get involved!
Also, we've got a great wear-test run this week at our Saturday run and plenty of new products at the store - be sure to stop by before summer training really heats up!
Osaka Marathon info session
Golden Legs Running has partnered with the City of Osaka, Japan to organize a trip to run the 2nd annual 2012 Osaka Marathon on November 25, 2012! The city of Osaka has a sister-city relationship with Chicago and GLR is hoping that this is the first of many exchanges between GLR and Osaka runners.

This Saturday let's meet at the Libertyville Centre Club for the group run. The forecast calls for showers so be sure to dress appropriately.

Sunday Bike Ride
The Sunday bike rides with Nancy T. are back! Let's meet this Sunday at 7:00AM in the west parking lot at Mundelein High School. There will be a 15, 20, and 30 mile bike route planned and please be sure to bring a helmet and spare tube.
We had over 25 people at the first rude! This is a great chance to ride with a fun group so don't miss it!

Congrats to everyone who ran the Reach Out & Run 5K! This Saturday at 8AM is the Sonics Boom 5K in Independence Grove in Libertyville, IL. This is a great course and it looks to be great weather - see you there!

Saturday Run
This Saturday let's meet at GLR Mundelein at 7:00AM for the group run. We'll be running down the trail and people will be running between 4 and 18 miles. This is the last run of the winter training program so be sure to stop by and say "hi" to Jenny!

Sonics Boom 5K!
The 2012 Sonics Boom 5K is this weekend! This race takes place in Independence Grove and benefits Santa Maria School. This is a beautiful course and a great way to start the weekend so don't miss it!

Congrats to Mark Loula, Kristy Juno, Ron Thurber, Tracie Ouimet and everyone else who got through the extremely HOT Boston marathon! Great job and hope the recovery is going well.
This Saturday is the Reach Out & Run 5K! GLR will have a table set up and there will be some great deals and running shoes and apparel.
Also, Ande and Stan are once again going to host a great "quadrathlon" ONLY for the GLR group - check out the below email for the details!

I hope that everyone is having a great week! First SAVE THE DATE of Thursday May 10 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM for the 2nd Annual GLR Ladies Night! Tracie O. is organizing this fun event that is JUST FOR THE LADIES!
Also, a week from today Thursday, April 12th stop by GLR Mundelein at 7:00PM and let's send off our very own Boston Marathoners: Ron Thurber, Tracie Ouimet, and Tim Kabot who have been running with us all winter getting ready. The Boston Marathon is Monday, April 16th.

First HAPPY BIRTHDAY to GLR's own Tony V! A group of us will be going to Park Street in Mundelein IL tonight at around 7:00PM to celebrate and everyone is invited! Feel free to join us for the 6:00PM group run as well.
Congrats to everyone who ran the Shamrock Shuffle last Sunday. A special shout out to Jenny Spangler for winning her age-group despite fighting an injury! Congrats to everyone who set a PR and be sure to let us know if you're running anything in the future.

This Saturday we will meet at 7:00AM at GLR-Mundelein. Runners will be going between 4 and 20 miles. A lot of runners are getting in their last long run before Boston and the weather should be great!

Congrats to everyone who competed in the 2012 Cary March Madness 1/2 marathon. It was great seeing so many familiar faces both running the race and cheering on the runners. Congrats to everyone who set a PR despite the hot weather and the hilly course!

Saturday Run
This Saturday, we will meet at 7:00AM at the Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville, IL. We'll meet at the North Pavillion. To get to the North Pavillion, take a left after you go past the front entrance booth and wind around to the last parking lot. There are washrooms available. The trail has been in pretty good condition with minor flooding at the Rte. 60 and Rte. 132 underpasses. The weather has been extremely warm so make sure you bring some liquids.
